Brookfield Academy's Board of Directors

Comprised of individuals who serve our school community with special talents, insight, and knowledge. They bring with them a great deal of wisdom and experience to help ensure the long-term viability of the school and to foster the Academy's mission and philosophy now and in the years to come. The Board includes current and alumni parents, as well as alumni of the school.
Brookfield Academy is grateful that they volunteer their time in order to help lead us into the future.

  • Michael D. Simmons ('80)

    Chair
    Mr. Michael D. Simmons '80 is a BA alumnus. He joined the Board of Directors in 2009 and became chair in 2018. A graduate of Ripon College, he earned an MBA from UW-Madison. He heads Simmons Capital Group and sits on several corporate boards. He has held leadership positions at the First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa and the Congregational Home. Michael and his wife, Kerri, have two children, Ryan '24 and Rachel '25.
  • Edward M. Aprahamian ('79)

    Mr. Edward M. Aprahamian '79 is an alumnus of Brookfield Academy. His daughter Allison was a member of the Class of 2015. He and his wife Mary live in Stonebank. Ed received both a BA and an MS in real estate finance and investment analysis (Grasskamp Program) from the University of Wisconsin and is President of MidAmerican Building Services. He has served on various boards of directors, including the US Small Business Administration – Regulatory Fairness Board and the Wisconsin Health and Education Facilities Authority Board.
  • Cynthia M. Davis ('98)

    Vice-Chair
    Judge Davis '98 attended BA from Level A until graduation. She is a granddaughter of one of the school’s founding families, Walter and Betty Davis, and the daughter of the late Board Chair, Stewart Davis. Cindy served on the Development Committee prior to joining the Board. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and French from DePauw University and a Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School. Judge Davis was appointed to Branch 21 of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court by Governor Scott Walker in February of 2016. She previously served as an Assistant District Attorney with the State of Wisconsin.
  • Brian Eiche (’03)

    After graduating from Brookfield Academy, Dr. Brian Eiche studied biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, earned his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and now practices emergency medicine at several area hospitals. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children attending BA, where he has served on the Education Committee and the Annual Fund Cabinet.
  • Cynthia Fletcher

    Mrs. Cynthia Fletcher and her husband, Bob, are proud parents of two boys, Tyler (2026) and Nolan (2028), who have attended BA since Level A. Cyndi is a commercial finance attorney and partner at Husch Blackwell LLP, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of San Diego and a Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School. She previously served on the Marketing Committee before joining the Board.
  • Daniel J. Geenen

    Dr. Daniel J. Geenen is an alumni BA parent of four lifers at BA, Matt '15, Bryan '16, Ellie '18 and Lauren '20. He and his wife co-chaired the Soar with the Stars capital campaign to help build Patriots hall. Dan is a retired physician with GI Associates and serves as vice chair on the board for St. Camillus Life Plan Community and on the Alumni Board of the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he received his MD after completing undergraduate work at Marquette University.
  • Ryan Law ('98)

    Ryan attended Brookfield Academy from Level A until graduation. Ryan is the third generation of his family to serve Brookfield Academy. He attended the University of St. Thomas and graduated with a major in General Business in 2002. After college, Ryan worked for the family business including Cudahy Tanning Company until 2008. He then moved on to Law Tanning Company. Currently, Ryan is an owner, a managing member, and CEO of Law Tanning Company.
  • Charles Li

    Charles and his wife, Karen, are the parents of two boys, Alex ’23 and Ethan (2029). He has served on Brookfield Academy’s Education Committee since 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Charles is a private investor. He also serves on the board of the Wisconsin Chinese Chamber of commerce.
  • Katharine B. Lockwood

    Kathy and her husband Steve reside in Wind Lake, Wisconsin. Her children Jack and Ben Otto are fully adulting after graduating from Brookfield Academy in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Kathy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Graphic Design at Drake University and is the owner and art director of Creative Juices Design Co. She has served on the board at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts and served as its Education Chair. She is a past member of Impact100 Greater Milwaukee and serving as Communications Chair and assisted with grant reviews. She served two years on Brookfield Academy’s Patriots Heritage Fund Cabinet and is a member of the Patriots
    Heritage Society.
  • Malaika Mathai Kodali ('86)

    Board Secretary
    Chair, Education Committee

    Dr. Malaika Mathai '86 Kodali is an alumna of Brookfield Academy and a past BA parent. She and her husband, Satish, had three boys at the Academy; Rajiv '16, Ravi '18, and Sanjiv '20. Malaika was in the Target MD program at UW-Milwaukee and graduated from the
    Medical College of Wisconsin. She is a physician practicing internal medicine. Malaika has been a member of the Board since 2003 and currently serves as Board Secretary, and Chair of the Education Committee.
  • W. Scott Priebe

    Scott and his wife Lindsay are the proud parents of five boys, four of whom have attended Brookfield Academy; Walker '24, Garrett (2026), Decker (2031), and Everett (2033). Scott is a graduate of DePauw University and The University of Chicago, Booth School of business. He is currently Managing Principal and Portfolio Manager of Geneva Capital Management, a Milwaukee based institution money manager. Scott also sits on the Board of Directors and is treasurer of the PF Foundation.
  • Mary J. York

    Chair, Marketing Committee
    Mrs. Mary J. York has been a Board member since 1986. Over the years, she has contributed her leadership and vision through service on multiple committees and currently chairs the Marketing Committee. Beyond her Board work, Mary has played an active role in Academy life; teaching, developing programs and events, and volunteering her time in countless ways. A 1967 graduate of Northwestern University, Mary and her husband, Merrill, have three children who graduated from the Academy: David York '88, Susan York '91 Jeide, and Carolyn York '95 Nowacki, as well as 11 grandchildren who are all alumni or current students at BA. She has been a board member for Hear Wisconsin; member of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches; and member of the Junior League of Milwaukee.
  • Bryant VanCronkhite

    Mr. Bryant VanCronkhite earned his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is both a CPA and CFA. He serves as Senior Portfolio Manager at Allspring Global Investments and sits on the boards of Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Junior Achievement of Wisconsin. He and his wife, Erin, have two children attending BA.
