The admissions process provides opportunities for you to get to know Brookfield Academy and for the school to get to know your student.
Applications are accepted throughout the school year, and students of all races, creeds, and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. By the first day of school, children entering Little Knights (enrichment program for future Level A) should be three years old, children entering Level A (Pre-K) should be four years old, and children entering Level B (Kindergarten) should be at least five years old. Students may begin or transfer to Brookfield Academy at any time during the school year, space permitting. After the admissions process has been completed, your child's file will be carefully reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Decisions will be released to families according to admissions timelines.

Once the application is submitted and you have created your MyBA portal account, in your checklist, click to start recommendation. Place the teacher's name and email address into the prompts and our recommender form will go straight to the teacher and back to admissions. -
4. Readiness Screening
- Little Knights: This screening is led by our Little Knights teachers. It gives the child an opportunity to participate alongside a parent in activities such as story time, music, and group play.
- Level A (Pre-kindergarten): During the screening, teachers work with children in small groups through activities designed to observe listening, fine and gross motor skills, following directions, expressive language, and interactions during group play. At the same time, a member of the Admissions team meets with parents to answer questions and share more about the Level A program.
- Level B (Kindergarten): During this readiness screening, the child works one-on-one with a teacher through activities designed to assess letter and sound recognition, phonemic awareness, early reading skills, expressive language, number sense, following directions, and fine motor development.

4. Schedule a Shadow Day
Once your application has been processed, you will have access to a link in your portal checklist enabling you to schedule a shadow day on campus. -
5. Admissions Screening & Conversation with Division Head
Admissions Screening- Levels 1-5: The student works one-on-one with a teacher to complete activities in math, reading, grammar, and writing.
- Levels 6-8: The student independently completes a series of screening activities that assess skills in math, verbal reasoning, and writing.
- This is a brief 10–15 minute conversation arranged with admissions that is designed to get to know your family and your child. Your child is encouraged to join you for this conversation.

6. Submit Report Card
We require the previous full year grades in addition to current classes your student is taking or a most recent grade report of the current year. In your portal checklist, you may request a report card/transcript be sent to admissions directly from the school OR you may email these documents directly to your admissions contact.

*A non-refundable $50 application fee ($250 for international applicants) must be received before the application can be processed. The Admissions Office will contact you to guide you through the next steps in the admission process.
International Applications: Please note that additional application fees and tuition fees are charged for international students, and enrollment is contingent upon successful host family placement. Admissions will contact you to explain the next steps in the admission process.
