Brigid Malloy '14

Brigid Malloy completed her month of residency at the Cedarburg Cultural Center in March. She was awarded the residency when the Arts Education Manager at the Cedarburg Cultural Center purchased a book that Brigid illustrated. Brigid said the residency was fun, and she was able to meet a lot of people. She was also able to sell a few pieces of her work. On March 19, Brigid taught a character design workshop at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. Her students learned about the building blocks to illustrate a character. The workshop experience was new for Brigid and helped her grow as a teacher.
After graduating from Brookfield Academy in 2014, Brigid attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design where she majored in illustration and minored in communication design. Brigid has used her illustrative talent for the Academy in years past, creating the drawings included in Linda Gentile ‘73 Pryor’s book Look What We Found, a book explaining the foundation of Brookfield Academy. Brigid adds, “Brookfield Academy has taught me how to persevere with my passion."

Pictured is Brigid's favorite painting she's completed. The painting shows a little girl walking a large red dragon on a leash. Brigid completed the painting shortly after her graduation from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2018.
