Virtual Auction - Thank You for Participating!

In a variation of the old adage about lemons and lemonade, Comedian Conan O’Brien stated: “If life gives you lemons, make some kind of fruity juice.” As events unfolded this spring, the traditional BA Dinner Auction was one of the first events to be canceled. Planning for the event was almost complete and, in fact, invites were ready to be mailed when word came the event could not take place as planned. BA decided to make "some kind of fruity juice" of our lemons and we forged ahead with a dinner auction-type experience, albeit using a much different look, format, and approach to raising money for student programs and capital needs.

As a result, our Dinner Auction was transformed into our first-ever Virtual Auction in school history. Co-chairs Holly Nygro and Natasha Tyson and the auction committee worked in conjunction with the Advancement Office to design a program that would generate excitement and encourage participation. We were entering the great unknown with this approach, but given the strength the BA community has demonstrated these past few months, we should not be surprised by the enthusiastic response for the event. Whether it is remote learning, an online open house, and now a Zoom virtual bidding gathering, the BA community continues to amaze with overwhelming support for school-wide programs.

All associated with the Virtual Auction are grateful to each and every one of you for making the event a great success. Below are some of the highlights from the virtual auction.
