COVID-19
ATHLETICS COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Our number #1 goal is to provide all athletes and coaches the privilege and opportunity to participate in sports. Please refer to this for athletic-specific guidelines. The general school protocols provide information on close contacts, quarantine periods, and other general COVID-19 information.
MASKS
Masks are optional at practices and games. Brookfield Academy, Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, and Midwest Classic Conference will not enforce a mandatory mask policy for competition.
PRACTICE
Coaches will continue to use sport-specific drills to encourage distancing at practices. Players and coaches will sanitize their hands and equipment after practice sessions.
GAME DAYS
Before each game, all participants will be checked by their respective coaching staff for any COVID-19 symptoms.
TRANSPORTATION
Brookfield Academy and parents will share the responsibility of transporting students to athletic events. Communication for transportation will be provided by the coaching staff and athletic department. Masks will be required on bus routes. Transportation assignments can be found on the athletic calendar.
WATER
All participating athletes should provide their own water bottle to practices and games. Water filling stations will be provided at home and away events.
SPECTATOR ATTENDANCE
We intend to allow spectators for games held at Brookfield Academy. Attendees are encouraged to maintain distance, as much as possible, when seated at indoor events. Masks are optional and will be offered upon entry. Spectator policies may be adjusted throughout the school year based on current conditions in the community and Brookfield Academy. Any specific details regarding spectator policies at opposing schools will be communicated by the coaches and/or athletic department in advance of the scheduled contest.
LOCKER ROOMS
Coaches will restrict the amount of student athletes using locker rooms for practices and games.
TEAM MEALS/GATHERINGS
Team meals or team gatherings outside of practice should be scheduled with the Athletic Director throughout the season.
