COVID-19

Dear Brookfield Academy Families:

The measures we've taken over the last two years have helped us achieve the goal of keeping our school open and our students learning in person. We appreciate the ongoing efforts of everyone in our community doing their part to help keep our students and staff healthy.

Going forward, we will treat cases of COVID as regular illness. As always, we rely on parents to keep students home when they are ill and to make us aware when students do test positive for COVID. We will continue to monitor the school community and county conditions allowing us to make decisions in the best interests of our students and staff, should the need arise.

  • Who should I contact for questions on campus related to health concerns?

Please contact the Brookfield Academy Health Office for any questions related to your child's health:

Primary School and Middle School: Ann Rauh
Lower School and Upper School: Julie Elfelt
  • What should I do if my child has one or more of these symptoms?

Please keep your child at home and inform the respective Division office.* We ask that you contact your family physician if your child has any of the COVID-19 symptoms, or has been near someone with COVID-19. Your physician can decide on what your next steps should be.

    *Division Phone Numbers
    Primary School: 262-252-2242
    Lower School: 262-252-6655
    Middle School: 262-252-2241
    Upper School: 262-252-2240
  • What if my child gets teased for wearing or not wearing a mask?

Each division will be addressing the message of individuality and character in assembly, classroom, or advisory that all students will be treated with kindness and respect no matter what their masking decision is. No student or family should feel that their decision to mask or not to mask is the wrong one. This is a parent and student choice that must be respected. Students will be given consequences for their actions if ever mistreating another student for wearing or not wearing a mask. We hope parents will have this discussion with their children as well.
