International Students

We welcome

applications from students entering grades 9 and 10 from all parts of the world.
We expect these students to be 14 or 15 years old by September 1 of the year they will enroll.  We also expect that all applicants are excellent academic scholars with solid English reading, writing, and speaking skills.  Students applying to Brookfield Academy's Upper School must be highly motivated, hard-working, and of good personal character.

International students are required to live with an American host family.  If the student does not have a host family, Brookfield Academy will try to help arrange one before arrival in the United States.  All host families must be approved by the school and go through the school's host family application process.  Enrollment is contingent upon host family placement.

It is important that all international students are eager and willing to become a part of the family life of the host family.  That means they must be willing to participate in family activities, such as meals, household chores, family gatherings, and family outings.  The host family is not merely a place to live; it is an important part of learning the traditions and culture of American life.

To apply to the program, please complete the online application and submit with the $250 non-refundable application fee, payable to Brookfield Academy.

Host an International Student

Brookfield Academy’s International Student Program welcomes many students from other countries each year. The program ensures a smooth academic transition for its students while taking into consideration that these students are also adjusting to a new culture. Host families are an important component of their success!
