Armaan Bhasin, Zheming "Leo" Chen, Samuel Demski, Mateo Fernandez-Tyson, Olivia Greipp, Lucia Jensen, Kishore Mohanram, Qasim Omer, Krish Sharma, Sohum Sharma, Ryan Simmons, and Adrian Yin were selected based on their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. They will advance in the process and have the opportunity to be named Finalists. If named Finalists, they will be considered for National Merit Scholarships.

Congratulations! Two Upper School students received additional awards in celebration of their achievements in the 2023 Scholastic Art Awards: Wisconsin Exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
Mira Santo-Tomas' colored pencil drawing, Girl with the Most Cake, has been selected to receive the Wisconsin Art Education Association Award with a $250 cash award.
Ava Denman's fashion piece, Gown of Wisdom, has been selected to receive Sycamore Award - Offered by Sue and Ray Kehm. This individual donor has chosen to honor her artistic talents with a $100 cash award.
Congratulations! Tyler Riederer represented Brookfield Academy at the Chicago Branch of the National Shakespeare Competition. A panel of judges selected Tyler as the winner of Saturday's event with his performance of Edmund from King Lear and Sonnet 23. Tyler will go on to compete with 60 finalists from across the United States at Lincoln Center in New York City from April 22-25. Break a leg, Tyler!
Congratulations! Three students are candidates for the 2023 class of the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Garv Bhasin, Caden Holcomb, and Leah Johnson are all in the running for one of the highest academic honors available to graduating seniors.
BA welcomed violinist, Frank Almond as part of the Artist Series on Friday, January 27.
It was amazing for students have the opportunity to hear from an artist at this level. Mr. Almond held the Charles and Marie Caestecker Concertmaster Chair with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 25 years. He has also held the Concertmaster position with the Rotterdam Philharmonic with Valery Gergiev and Guest Concertmaster of the London Philharmonic with Kurt Masur.
Congratulations to the 26 students who earned 44 awards in the Scholastic Art Awards-Wisconsin. Their work will be on display in the Schroeder Galleria at the Milwaukee Art Museum from February 4-March 19. Best of luck to individuals who have one of the nine pieces advancing to national competition that will be judged in New York City in March.
