On April 21, the girls played in the annual BA Bash soccer
tournament at home. After winning this tournament two years in a
row, BA would be looking for a three-peat, but there were four new
schools in the tournament this year who are better than any of the
other schools that have been in the tournament before.

In the first game against South Milwaukee, the three Blue Knight
captains came up big exactly when they were needed. After being
down 1-0 at halftime, Collins scored from a Pesch assist to tie the
game, and Ana Bayerlein made an unbelievable save with one minute
left to secure a 1-1 draw. The second game was a convincing 2-0
victory over a Winnebago team that only lost one game last year and
only one so far this year. All BA defenders played amazing and were
well organized by Ally Anderson. Pesch scored both goals to bring
her BA total to 100! Congratulations to Pesch for this massive
accomplishment!

BA made the championship game based on having the most points in
its group. After giving up an early 0-1 lead to Mauston, the girls
battled through their exhaustion, scoring three goals to win a
third consecutive BA Bash championship. Pesch scored twice more and
Collins added the third while senior Jenny Giera played a great
game in defense. The freshman and sophomores looked great
throughout the tournament as they have made tremendous improvements
in the past week.
