Girls Soccer Captures Regional Championship!

The girls soccer team earned a second consecutive Regional Championship last week. On Thursday, they defeated Heritage Christian 10-0 by way of senior Eimile Pesch scoring five goals, senior Liz Collins scoring one goal with five assists, freshman Shreya Shah adding two goals, sophomore Grace Beagle and freshman Claire Lo each scoring once.

On Saturday, BA took on Cedar Grove-Belgium (19-4-1). An outstanding first half gave the Blue Knights a comfortable 3-0 lead on two goals by Pesch and one by Collins. After their opposition scored early in the second half, BA answered immediately with another Collins to Pesch goal that sealed the Regional Final at a 4-1 victory.

Shah wasn't involved in the scoring, but played her best game all year. The defense of senior Jenny Giera, junior Ally Anderson, junior Issy Ricci and Claire Lo held a strong opponent to just one goal. That was the first goal that defense, along with senior goalkeeper Ana Bayerlein, had conceded in their past ten games. BA takes on defending state champs Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Thursday at Brookfield Academy.
