Educational Philosophy

Brookfield Academy uses the best of tried-and-true, traditional educational methods and state-of-the-art computer technology. That is why, on a given day, Lower School students might use McGuffey's Readers, first published in 1836, as supplements to their reading curriculum, while across the hall other students will be creating graphic projections of scientific data.

As an institution dedicated to excellence in education, Brookfield Academy is continuously searching for and selecting what appears to be best in everything it undertakes. The founding philosophical pillars of classical liberal education, free market economics, Judeo-Christian monotheism, constitutional limited government, and individual freedom with personal responsibility are exemplified by the Academy's Five Stars: Intellect, Heritage, Truth, Individuality, and Character.

For nearly four decades, Brookfield Academy has enjoyed resounding success not only as a result of its steady focus on offering an outstanding program in an environment of excellence, but also as a result of being able to select the finest combination of parents, students, and teachers anywhere in the world.

The results of the outstanding program speak for themselves:

  • Four year olds who enter Level A in September learn to read by Thanksgiving;

  • Middle School students run their own country within the school walls, complete with elected officials, taxes, and a booming market economy;

  • Upper School students earn recognition as National Merit Finalists, take top honors in Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial, and foreign language competitions, are accepted into the nation's premier colleges and universities, and enter those schools with numerous Advanced Placement credits;

  • Graduates flourish in college, some earning degrees in only three years, and go on to excel in their careers.
